Father's Ski Mask

MARSA is an interdisciplinary design studio based in London, founded by Serbian-born architect and designer Aleksandar Stanković. Shaped by Aleksandar’s journey – from growing up in Serbia to studying at the prestigious Architectural Association and building his career in London – studio conceives spaces and objects with boldness, eclecticism, and a sense of decadence. MARSA embodies an energy that is exhilarating and inventive, yet intimate, and is applied to all scales of design - from architecture to objects.

The name MARSA is fictional yet deeply personal. It originates from a childhood nickname once given to Aleksandar’s father in their small town in Serbia. As a boy wearing a knitted ski mask, he reminded his friends of “a man from Mars.” In that moment, an everyday object became a gateway to another dimension, transforming a snowy playdate into a planetary conquest. This spirit of playful imagination and escapism found in ordinary moments is what inspires the studio’s vision.
